The deceased had a history of robbery and deprivation of liberty. It had been just over four months since he had been captured and sent to prison for robbing a pharmacy.
Óscar Armando Comayagua, 43, murdered yesterday inside a bus on Route 2, was being released on bail and had a long history of criminal history of theft, robbery and other crimes, police sources said.
One of the last police and judicial records dates from early October 2020, when he stormed a pharmacy operating between the 3rd. Orient street and 4th. Avinguda Nord, in the Historic Center of San Salvador.
On this occasion, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) charged him with the crimes of theft and deprivation of liberty of four women.
Nevertheless, the Court 14o. de Pau de San Salvador changed the crimes for aggravated theft and aggravated threats. And on October 8, when he held the initial hearing, he decided to send him to pretrial detention.
According to the indictment, on June 12, 2020, at approximately 8:00 a.m., Comayagua burst into the pharmacy while the four employees were alone. Two of them were in the foyer.

Comayagua entered the place with his hands at waist height, pretending to have a firearm; thus threatening the maids, while calling them to kill them if they did not hand over the money from the cash register.
Once he subdued the four employees, Comayagua tried to open the drawer of the cash register, but no matter how hard he tried, he could not, so he decided to retire, but before he closed at four employed in a room to prevent them from following him.
However, one of them managed to call the National Civil Police. Comayagua had not walked more than 200 meters from the pharmacy when he was captured by police.
When they proceeded to search him, they only found a cell phone, apparently owned by him, and four boxes of vitamin C that he had stolen from the pharmacy when he failed in his attempt to steal money from the box.
According to police sources, Comayagua had regained his freedom a few days ago but was still on trial.
