76ers guard Seth Curry casts a shadow over the former Mavericks team after winning

When a guy faces his old team for the first time, there is always a little extra juice that accompanies the match. That’s what happened Thursday to Philadelphia 76ers guard Seth Curry when he faced the Dallas Mavericks for the first time since the trade.

The Mavericks sent Curry to the Sixers in November on draft night in exchange for Josh Richardson. It was the second time Dallas let Curry run and reminded them Thursday of the value he has for a team.

He scored 15 points and defeated all three triples in a 111-97 victory over the Mavericks.

“Nothing personal, man,” Curry said with a smile. “I had a lot of respect for a lot of these guys over there. I just think they made a bad business decision, but it happens all the time, you know what I say? That’s what it is.”

In addition to what he offered offensively, he was very active at the defensive end of the floor. Duke’s veteran did a great job harassing Richardson from the start and had an impact on that end as well.

“Seth Curry got his hands on it, we told him he should have known his game so he did,” coach Doc Rivers laughed. “I just thought our defensive energy, I’m looking at it, we shot 43%, we didn’t have a great offensive night, and yet we increased to 20 most of the game. Dallas is a great offensive team and for to us to defend like that was special “.

Most importantly, the Sixers got another win and that’s all that matters at the end of the day. The team must continue to grow and that meant another impressive victory for Philadelphia, regardless of who the opponent was.

“Another night to go out and win and play well as a team,” Curry added. “That’s the ultimate goal is to get a win, so the main thing was good to see a lot of my guys at the end of the floor, and catch up and play again.”

The Sixers will face the Cleveland Cavaliers Saturday at home.
