Video footage captures the moment a shopkeeper took off her underwear to use as a face mask warned he wouldn’t serve it without one while he was in a supermarket.
The incident was filmed at a Pick n Pay supermarket in South Africa, where the shopping woman had been asked to wear a face mask while in the store.
Still, she said she didn’t have any, meaning she had to be creative.
In the clip, the security guard can be seen asking the woman to put on a face mask, threatening to take her out of the store if she does not put it on.
The woman then above under the dress and take off his pants, before placing them on his face as a makeshift mask.
Another buyer shows up to congratulate her by saying, “Well done.”
The clip has gone viral, though not everyone believes the woman he was on the right with his alternate face, with many social media users advocating the mandatory use of masks.
One Facebook user he said, “Stay home and shop online if you don’t like the idea of wearing a mask.”
Another He commented: “This makes me sick. She is aware of the law all over the world. We have a serious virus and [she thinks] a G string will save it.
“Come on growing up. What should your family think?”
In December 2020, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa stressed that not wearing a face mask in public is a criminal offense.
Announcing that it would be mandatory for each person to wear a mask in a public space, he said: “We now know that the simplest and most effective way to reduce coronavirus transmission is to wear a cloth mask that covers your nose and mouth as long as you are in public.
“Until now owners and managers of shops and public buildings, business people and public transport operators had a legal responsibility to ensure that everyone who enters their premises or vehicle wears a mask.
“But given the grave danger our country now faces, tight regulation of level 3 will make everyone legally responsible for wearing a mask in public.
“A person who does not wear a mask could be arrested and prosecuted.
“In the event of a conviction, they shall be liable to a fine or imprisonment for a period not exceeding six months or to a fine and imprisonment.”
