Russell Wilson’s bombing of the Chicago Bears is doing its best. This after it was revealed that the Pro-Bowl quarterback would consider a trade to four teams, including the Bears.
While Wilson has not requested any changes to the Seattle Seahawks, it appears he is not satisfied with the lack of protection on the offensive line. Therefore, there are definitely tensions between both parties. It remains to be seen if this results in a trade.
But even if Wilson isn’t involved yet, general manager Ryan Pace would have to clear the door for the Seahawks to have a chance to bring a star quarterback to Chicago, especially considering he would save his own job beyond 2021
Pro Football Focus proposed a hypothetical Bears trade, which would include a pair of defensive blocks and a pair of first-round picks.
The Bears would receive Wilson for the following:
OLB Khalil Mack CB Jaylon Johnson 2021, first round 2022, first round
It’s hard to say that there are no players at the table when it comes to negotiating with a star quarterback, especially for a franchise that has historically been bad at quarterback position. Even a bunch like Mack.
While Chicago seems to be the least attractive of the four options, alongside the Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints and Las Vegas Raiders, it looks like Wilson would like a chance to turn the Bears franchise around.
However, if Chicago offers more, the Seahawks already have Wilson’s green light to hand out to the Bears. It can also help the Saints might be interested in requiring Teddy Bridgewater i the Cowboys working to keep Dak Prescott in Dallas.
But we are moving forward here. Seattle insists they have no plans to change Wilson this offseason, and we’ll see if they adhere to that plan.
