The startling revelation that Quicksilver had basically been recast into the Marvel movie universe WandaVision surprised fans, with X-Men film actor Evan Peters replacing Aaron Taylor-Johnson at a time that made fans wonder what it meant to the multiverse. But what they just mocked us WandaVision Episode 5, “In a Very Special Episode …”, only raised questions about Quicksilver’s arrival, and might not open the door to a crossroads with the X-Men franchise advancing. We now know that this version of Pietro is not the real deal, especially after Agatha Harkness came to light about her manipulation of Wanda Maximoff. But what does it mean for Marvel to move forward?
During the Disney + TCA presentation on Wednesday, the head of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, said that the decision to introduce Peters instead of Taylor-Johnson happened quite early in the development process and then explained that everything part of how “certain people” are getting involved with Wanda.
“This is one of the fun things about developing these things or skiing them in the rooms,” Feige said (via The wrapper). “My favorite part of the process is always very, very early, when we’re figuring out what a thing can be and, in the end, when we refine it and put it in the world. So there were all sorts of debates, but I think we end up following what you saw relatively early in the development process. It’s another way that certain people were wrapping up Wanda. “
And last week, “Breaking the Fourth Wall,” the seventh episode of the series, revealed that someone was actually getting involved with Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) and that she was using “Pietro” to do so. The episode saw Agnes reveal herself as Agatha and a montage showed viewers what “Agatha had been like all along” had been like with a catchy themed song, a themed song that has spawned a great cover and creative fan remix. Of course, there are still many theories that suggest that Agatha may not be the big evil of WandaVision. There are many theories that suggest that Mephisto or Nightmare might still be behind everything and even some theories that Quicksilver could be Chthon. Fans will only have to wait for the last two episodes to find out.
The first seven episodes of WandaVision they are now airing on Disney +.
