Undefeated Mexican wrestler Gilberto ‘left hand’ Ramirez signed a promotional deal with Golden Boy Promotions for multiple fights.
Mexican Ramirez (41-0, 27 KOs), 29, won the OMB super middleweight belt, but after five defenses of the title decided to jump to the light heavyweight, where he has won of the fights.
“They understood the goals and agendas I set for myself and I have full faith in Oscar [De La Hoya] and the team to make the big fights come true, “Ramirez said.” I look forward to working closely with them in this new chapter of my career. “
Ramirez’s goal is an eventual opportunity for the world title. The last time he wore a belt, he beat Jesse Hart by majority decision in 2018 to retain his super middleweight crown.
Artur Beterbiev has the CMB and FIB belts in light heavyweight and Dimitry Bivol is wearing the AMB belt. None of the fighters have lost in their career. Beterbiev is fighting next month, while Bivol has not been fighting since 2019.
Ramirez is the first super middleweight champion in the history of Mexican boxing.
