A sheep found wandering in Australia weighed more than 75 pounds of extra wool. The sheep, named Baarack, received a much-needed shear from Edgar’s Mission Farm Sanctuary after they rescued him earlier this month.
Under the heavy fleece, Baarack actually had little weight and is now bouncing back thanks to his new friends.
“Baarack has more confidence every day!” a TikTok of the shrine is read.
“That Baarack, despite being a prey animal and having had so little contact with our species, will now turn and look at us, curiously walking forward to touch our outstretched hand, leaving us with no doubt that he associates the goodness which we have provided “with something worth partnering for,” says a post on the sanctuary’s Facebook page.
They detailed the love and attention the workers provided to Baarack.
“From freeing him from all that wool, removing the long, sharp seed of grass that had become entangled between the cornea and the eyelid that had caused a nasty ulcer, to the many hours we spent thoroughly plucking dozens and dozens of stubbornly determined grass seeds that had made their way into his flesh, Baarack, a being of reason, sees us as the good ones. “
A shrine employee said Baarack was seen in a forest by a property maintenance man doing work on a nearby property USA Today.
It appears that the sheep was once owned, with an ear tag that was ripped off, possibly by the thick fleece it had near its face.
According to experts, sheep should be sheared at least once a year, to keep the wool light enough for the animals and prevent possible infections.
