Derion Kendrick, Clemson’s cornerback for all ACCs, is no longer with the Tigers

CLEMSON, SC – Clemson’s starting quarterback Derion Kendrick is no longer part of the Tigers’ program.

A team spokesman confirmed Kendrick’s condition Sunday.

Kendrick, a 6-foot, 190-pound senior player from Rock Hill, South Carolina, was a very talented player who last season had several discipline issues and did not play in three games.

After Kendrick won no wins against Pittsburgh in November, Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said: “Some people might say he’s in the doghouse. I like to say he’s in the love shack. “Just a little discipline.”

Kendrick started eight of the nine games he played last season. He had 20 attacks and led the team with six passing breaks. He also had a 66-yard touchdown recovery in a win over Virginia Tech last December.

Kendrick was named cornerback of the first fully ACC team.

Clemson began spring training on Wednesday. Kendrick becomes the group’s second defensive starter last year, finishing 15th nationally with 326 yards allowed per game.
