Forests responded to Twitter to the gesture made by many in the golf community, including Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Thomas and Cameron Champ, who wore Woods ’exclusive suit.
“It’s hard to explain how touching it has been today when I turned on the TV and saw all the red shirts,” Woods wrote Sunday. “To all golfers and all the fans, you really help me get through this difficult time.”
Gainbridge LPGA golfers on Sunday, including Annika Sorenstam, too he wore red and black in support of Woods.
PGA Tour Communications has tweeted a picture Sunday of the maintenance staff of the Puerto Rico Open with red and black in honor of Woods.
The golfer Bryson DeChambeau has tweeted an image of a golf ball with the name “Tiger” and a red line.
“We’re all looking for you @tigerwoods,” DeChambeau wrote. “Mentor, idol and model of my professional career, no one can get out of this more strongly. We’re glad you’re here. See you soon.”
Woods suffered serious leg injuries in a vehicle overturning accident last week near Los Angeles, where the SUV crossed an average, crossed two lanes of the road, then crashed into a tree and landed next to the driver on the brush.
After initial treatment at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, Woods was transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he received follow-up procedures. tweet posted Friday he said on Woods’ Twitter account. “The procedures were successful and he is now recovering and in a good mood.”
Woods injuries included open fractures to the tibia and fibula that required the insertion of a wand and additional injuries to the bones of the foot and ankle that stabilized with screws and pins.
