Bravely Default II Player | how to unlock the player class

Courage by default II is the latest in a series of new role-playing games that pay homage to some of the classics of the genre in the 1990s and, like its predecessors, BD2 pays a greater tribute through its complicated work system, including some classes which are completely optional to unlock, such as the Player.

There are twenty-four jobs in total, and if you want to know more, follow our comprehensive Bravely Default 2 job guide, which contains lists of skills and all kinds. We also have some suggestions on the best jobs, sub-jobs and job combinations in BD2, if you need them. On this page, though? We will explain it quickly how to unlock the working class of players, which is completely optional and easy to lose.

How to unlock the player in the default value Braly 2

We talked a bit about the player in our work guide, but since some of you just want to know, without spoilers, we thought we’d split it into a separate guide page. Here’s the rub: you can unlock the Gambler class up to chapter 1. Once you get to the point where you unlock the Beastmaster asterisk, you’ll be able to capture the side mission that will allow you to play.

You will need to be the city of Savalon and head to the Savalon game room on the north side of the city. Because, how else would you unlock players than if you participated in a little … game? It’s all pretty obvious, really.

Inside the game room, you’ll chat with Shirley to introduce you to Bind and Divide, which is the optional mini-card game from Bravely Default II. This game isn’t a triple pick, but it’s decent enough, but it’s very confusing. We haven’t fully worked out how to play despite the efforts of the BD2 NPCs to teach us, but we were able to confuse the card games needed to unlock Gambler.

The “Take a Gamble” mission that kicks off after talking to Shirley basically requires defeating a bunch of characters scattered around Savalon Gaming Hall. Take a walk down the aisle, beating out as many NPCs as you can, starting with Orpheus, who cools down in the northeast corner of the hallway. After Orpheus, he works around the other players except Shirley. When everyone has been defeated, STOP!

Now you have won everyone, Shirley, who taught you the game, will play you again, without restrictions. Before playing Bind & Divide against Shirley, save your game. If you lose this game of this rather obtuse card game, you will be forced to reload your game; it actually results in a finished game. So save just before you take it to the cards.

With Shirley beaten, Now you’ll have to fight her in a real battle against the warlords to unlock the Gambler asterisk. It’s not that hard, but again, it’s good that you’ve saved, because if you fail in this fight, it’s over.

If you’ve found the most recent fights manageable at this stage, you shouldn’t find Shirley in any real trouble. We’ve found that there’s more danger in losing the card game against it, as it certainly has a random element. But again, so does the Gambler class, following the tradition of other versions of that class elsewhere.

The Gambler class is potentially powerful, but you have to understand that their set of game abilities is very randomized as they were expected considering the topic of the job. However, players have solid magic stats, which means it can be a good job to combine them with wizards. They are also ideal in case you desperately need money and need to run out of some cash.
