Esportiu Cali and Santa Fe drew 1-1 this Sunday in an intense match of the tenth date of the Betplay League I-2021, a contest that leads the Vallecaucano squad with 22 points, 2 more than Tolima and 4 above the ‘Lion’ and equity.
The most attractive duel of the day had different nuances, played in both areas, with dynamics, ardor and the local goalkeeper, Guillermo D’Amors, sent off in the 73rd minute for a foul on Jorge Ramos. Once again, the development of the commitment showed coach Jorge Arias that it is not productive to start with Ángelo Rodríguez and Marc Pérez together, because their spaces are not well distributed.
The intention of the whole capital was to give a good gift to the fans on his 80th birthday, so he attacked from the beginning and produced the best opportunities in the goal of Guillem D’Amors. At 4 minutes with Jorge Ramos in a shot with the left, and at 13 Kelvin Osorio could not define with power in the header and left the ball in the hands of the charrúa.
The prize for this insistence came in the 16th minute, after in a cross by Jorge Ramos the ball hit the hand of Darwin Andrade, profiled from behind. The referee Wilmar Roldán went to the VAR and whistled the penalty charged by Sherman Cárdenas to deceive the Uruguayan goalkeeper and get a minute later the 0-1 in favor of the ‘cardinals’.
Up there was superior Santa Fe, ball attendant, with more depth and the most dangerous approaches, pushed by a clever Sherman Cárdenas. But Cali vehemently began to level the action, though again stripped the lack of a man thinking in the middle of the court.
Who tried to throw the team on the shoulder was Angelo Rodriguez stepping back a few meters and leaving Marc Perez only in attack, but his characteristics are not those required for this function. Andrés Arroyo, on the other hand, still doesn’t shine, although he receives the confidence of the coaching staff.
Leandro Castellanos’s curling free kick almost found the goal for Leandro Castellanos, but the visitors’ keeper somehow managed to get ahold of it.
Andrés Arroyo was faced with a ball that he preferred to throw at the bow before joining and Castellanos had no problem staying with him, at 37.
After 43 minutes, Ángelo came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to put away the 1 – 0 goal, giving Vásquez the lead. Cali had matched the actions, but he was run over and bewildered by the application and order of the ‘Lion’, who wanted to set up his party in Palmaseca.
Arroyo’s right side looked dangerous after 45 minutes, as Marc Pérez broke through. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. on the screen and supported the flag-raising of his Western assistant, the Metense Yinfar Bulla.
Santa Fe came out again determined to attack at the start of the compliment. About 2 minutes he weaved a beautiful collective play with Sherman, Arias, Arbreda going on the attack and Daniel Giraldo dispatched a right-footed shot that hit the base of the right post, saving the home side. Jorge Arias slipped and slithered in the wet grass. His usual rapid runs were nowhere to be seen today. Sherman was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper.
Alfredo Arias looked for solutions and of an order the income of Andrés Colorado for Jhojan Valencia, Kevin Velasco for Darwin Andrade and Michell Ramos for Andrés Arroyo, to the 9 minutes.
And the formula worked out for him. In the 17th minute, Harold Gómez executed a side service for his sector, the Santa Fe central defenders went for the header and the rebound was taken by Andrés Colorado to convert the 1-1 with an internal edge already crawling in the red bow.
Coach Harold Rivera also moved his bench: Andrés Pérez for Nicolás Giraldo, John Velásquez for Sherman Cárdenas and Andrés Renteria for Kelvin Osorio (23 ST). Immediately, Jorge Ramos unbalanced on the left to face D’Amors and the green goalkeeper committed a foul on the entrance line to the area. Referee Roldán received his first yellow card, although when he went to the VAR he decided to change it to red, leaving Cali with 10 men at 28.
Ángelo Rodríguez was sacrificed to replace the substitute goalkeeper, Humberto Acevedo, at 29. Luis Manuel Seijas also did it for Jhon Arias at 32.
Andrés Balanta came on for Marc Pérez at 37 to take control of the ball in Santa Fe. At 41, Michell Ramos touched the deep ball to Vásquez on the right, but the Cartagena winger was ahead when he served the ball to Velasco and Roldán canceled out the action.
However, the teams were not hurt and so with a tie was settled an emotional encounter between ‘sugarmen’ and ‘cardinals’, who have everything to be protagonists in the next round.
