Eddy Reynoso, the head coach of Mexican Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez, exploded against ESPN journalist David Faitelson, whom he called “toxic” for his assessment of the fight between his pupil and the Turkish Avni Yildirim for the World Boxing Council (WBC) supermedia title held on Saturday night, February 27 in Miami.
“There are” TOXIC “people in sports journalism and you !! As ch …, nothing more than us you need c … !!, wrote Reynoso on his personal Twitter account in response to the tweet that Faitelson had made minutes earlier.
There are “TOXIC” people in sports journalism and you !!
Like Chingas, you only need one of us !!
Sorry to all who read this for being rude but how castroso this subject is !! live Mexico 🇲🇽 https://t.co/Ofw15ij1oP– EDDY Reynoso (@CANELOTEAM) March 1, 2021
Renowned ESPN reporter had written on his Twitter account that “Saul Alvarez @Canelo and Eddie Reynoso @CANELOTEAM acted with treachery and advantage.” And then he continued his analysis by referring to the fact that “they knew of the great shortcomings of the Turkish Yildirim and agreed to go up to the ring with him. The result, a shameful spectacle for a sport like boxing.”
Faitelson remarked that “Canelo has no need for this.”
Just over 30 minutes later came the counterattack of Reynoso, who, with his most important disciple, is not the first time they engage in controversy with the Mexican journalist.
Reynoso apologized in his tweet for using rude language and ended it with a “Long live Mexico.”
Canelo retained the 168-pound belts of the CMB and AMB via knockout against the mandatory challenger at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.
