Montana COVID-19 Report (Monday, March 1)

Montana added eight new COVID-19-related deaths Monday afternoon, bringing the state’s total to 1,378.

The new death included one in Yellowstone County and seven in Flathead County.

(first report) There were 163 recently confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Montana on Monday, and the number of deaths statewide since the pandemic began is 1,370, according to data compiled by MTN News.

Currently, the number of active cases in the state is 1,588, according to MTN News, and there has been a cumulative total of 100,419 cases of the virus in Montana. Of the total cases, 97,461 have been recovered.

There are currently 68 people admitted to treat the virus and the cumulative number of hospitalizations is 4,584.

The number of tests performed in the state has reached 1,079,671, an increase of 1,683 over the previous 24-hour period.

The number of mountaineers who have received at least one of the two vaccines is 255,746, and the number of mountaineers who have received both vaccines and are now fully vaccinated is 88,387.

The numbers reported by MTN reflect the most recent data from Montana COVID website, along with additional data received from county health departments.

Note: As COVID-19 cases increase in Montana, the disparity between state DPHHS data and local data from county health departments continues to grow.

MTN has decided to use a combination of these sources to provide more accurate information across all media platforms. We believe this is a truer explanation of the situation in Montana.

Local county health departments can receive case alerts from Montana’s DPHHS. Because these counties share this information with the public, MTN believes it should be reflected in our reports. The use of this local data means that there will be times when the MTN coronavirus data does not align with the status report.
