ARENA retained its mayorship of Ayutuxtepeque, while Guazapa remained with the mayor of the PCN. The two mayors failed to defeat New Ideas.
Until three in the afternoon of this Monday, the place of transmission of results of the Supreme Electoral Court (TSE), gave account that in San Salvador, the party New Ideas became of 17 mayorships of the 19 municipalities that has the most populated department in El Salvador.
The head of San Salvador was won by the coalition New Ideas-WIN, with 61,001 votes, representing 89.2% of the acts scrutinized until 3 in the afternoon, thus displacing the mayor of the capital of ARENA, Ernesto Muyshondt .

Mario Durán, ex-minister of Interior and ex-regidor of the mayorship of San Salvador in the municipal administration of Nayib Bukele, would be leading the capital commune as of the 1 of May.
San Martin, Panchimalco, Aguilares, Tonacatepeque, San Tomás, Jaume Texacuangos, Paisnal, Rosary of Blackberry, Thin City, Soyapango, Cuscatancingo, San Marcos, Ilopango, Mexicans, Nejapa and Apopa, will happen at the hands of New Ideas or the coalition NI -WIN.
In Mexicans, Mayor Simón Pau, of the FMLN, failed to be re-elected. In this municipality he also won New Ideas in coalition with CD.
Fidel Fonts, one of the emblematic mayors of the FMLN in San Marcos, would be overthrown by New Ideas.
Whereas other municipalities maintained their same mayors, these are: Guazapa, that decided to maintain to its mayor Jose Armed Barrier, of the PCN in its municipal mayorship.
Ayutuxtepeque was also in the hands of the current mayor of ARENA, Alejandro Nóchez, who is in his fourth term in the municipality.
