Indonesia Mount Sinabung it erupted on Tuesday, sending volcanic materials up to 5,000 meters into the sky and depositing ash in nearby villages. Volcano activity in North Sumatra province increased last week, with authorities recording 13 times when they released ash clouds.
The dramatic video from the Indonesia Volcanological Survey shows the ash feather reaching to the sky.
There have been no further evacuations due to activity and there have been no disruptions to flights in the region.
The 2,600-meter (8,530-foot) Sinabung was dormant for four centuries before exploding in 2010 and killing two people. Another eruption in 2014 killed 17 people, while seven died in a 2016 eruption.

The volcano, one of two currently erupting in Indonesia, has come to life sporadically since then.
In recent years, some 30,000 people have been forced to leave their homes around Sinabung.
Sinabung is among the more than 120 active volcanoes in Indonesia, located on the shores of the “Ring of Fire,” an arc of volcanoes and fault lines surrounding the Pacific Ocean. In total, the ring also comprises about 450 volcanoes, including all the most active volcanoes in the US
