Hilaria and Alec Baldwin revealed their baby girl’s name on Tuesday, but one mystery remains: was she born through a surrogate?
The chronology of the birth of baby Lucia has been a big point of discussion since Hilaria, 37, and Alec, 62, announced Monday that they welcomed their sixth child just five months after the birth of his second minor, Eduardo.
When pressured for more details, the couple’s representative said on page six, “We have not yet issued any statement or confirmed anything, that is, what he posted.”
While the Baldwins are silent sharing how their little “Baldwinito” came into this world, fans of social media noticed that Hilaria is following a surrogate pregnancy agency (which has offices in New York) called Alcea Surrogacy on Instagram .
Coincidentally, the company congratulated one of its “IP addresses,” meaning parents, for the “amazing birth of their daughter” a few days before Alec and Hilaria shared the first photo of Lucia Lucia.
Page six could not confirm whether Hilaria and Alec used Alcea Surrogacy to welcome their sixth child. A company representative and the Baldwins did not immediately return our requests for feedback.
Alec and Hilaria live in Manhattan with their baby and five other children, 5 month old son Eduardo, 2 year old son Romeo Alejandro David, 4 year old son Leonardo Ángel Charles, 5 year old son Rafael Thomas and Carmen Gabriela , 7-year-old daughter.
However, it’s also possible that Hilaria will follow the story because she interviewed Alcea Surrogacy co-founder Angela Richardson-Mook on her podcast “Mom Brain” in November.
In the interview, Richardson-Mook praised Hilaria for being so open to the difficulties of losing her pregnancy after suffering two miscarriages in 2019.
“I see Hilaria being so raw and vulnerable in terms of her own losses,” the executive director said. “The more times and more influential people talk, the just … devastation of loss. What leads is perhaps hope.”
While Hilaria has been outspoken about her pregnancies in the past, she hasn’t revealed many details about Lucia’s birth. In that interview with Richardson-Mook, he talked about the “fear” some may experience that “people don’t see you as a mother if you use a substitute,” but he didn’t state if he had ever used one.
“But you really think, not just in these nine months, but in all the sleepless nights, in all the vomiting you have, at school, in all these lessons. . . all the other experiences they make of you mother and father, ”he added.
Richardson-Mook noted that this is not an easy decision for parents and that parents take an average of about 50 months to work during the surrogacy process.
If this were the case for Hilaria and Alec, they would have delved into surrogacy long before she became pregnant with Eduardo.
“It’s all because of mom’s fault,” Hilaria said in her podcast. “Is it worth it? Am I willing to take a risk on both sides? “
