Meghan Markle faces harassment claims prior to Oprah’s interview

Meghan Markle has been accused of harassing at least two palace aides during her short tenure as British royal.

According to sources in The Times of London, the Duchess of Sussex occasionally brought employees to tears when she lived at Kensington Palace after her May 2018 wedding to Prince Harry.

In an alleged incident, a royal aide who had been anticipating a showdown with Markle told a colleague, “I can’t stop shaking.”

According to the British newspaper, two senior members of the palace staff were harassed to leave their jobs.

A third former aide said he had been “humiliated” personally by the former TV actress.

Another former official told the Times that the situation felt “more like emotional cruelty and manipulation, which I guess could also be called bullying.”

The couple’s communications assistant at the time, Jason Knauf, reported the behavior in October 2018, apparently in an effort to protect employees, according to the report.

“I am very concerned that the Duchess was able to harass two PAs in the home last year. X * treatment was totally unacceptable,” the HR complaint said.

“It looks like the duchess intends to always have someone in her sights,” Knauf reported. “He is intimidating Y and seeks to undermine his confidence. We have received complaints after complaints from people who have witnessed unacceptable behavior towards Y ”.

He added: “I’m worried nothing will be done.”

Newspaper sources said Buckingham Palace was more concerned with making the situation go away rather than addressing it.

“Older people in the household knew they had a situation where staff members, especially young women, were harassed to the point of crying,” one person said.

“The institution just protects Meghan constantly. All the men in gray clothes she hates have a lot to answer for, because they did absolutely nothing to protect people.”

A Sussex spokesman said Markle, 39, denied all allegations of bullying and was “saddened by this latest attack on his character, especially as someone who has been the target of intimidation”.

The allegations come before a revealing interview the couple did with Oprah Winfrey, in which Markle is willing to claim that life in the royal family was “almost unsustainable.”

She and Harry, 34, will talk about their decision to leave the royal family and move to California with their young son, Archie.
