New generation of “Rebel” will hit Netflix in 2022

Mexico. A new generation of Elite Way School will surprise Netflix audiences in 2022 with the new series “Rebel”, a new adaptation of the soap opera that enchanted the world in 2004.

“The new generation of ‘Rebel’ begins production in Mexico City,” reads a statement issued by the platform this Monday, which also announces the protagonists of the new production.

Blau Guaita, Sergio Mayer Mori, Andrea Chaparro, Jeroni Cantillo, Franco Masini, Lizeth Selene, Alejandro Pont and Giovanna Grigio, will be the new students of the Elite Way School.

The announcement was accompanied by a letter from the school’s general management in fiction and signed by Celina Ferrer Miter, who in the Televisa version was played by actress Estefanía Vila-real.

“Today the steering committee is proud to present to the new generation of young people who will be part of our prestigious institution the next school year 2022,” the letter reads.

The series is based on the original concept developed by producers Cris Bruna Group and Dori Mitjana, which was also adapted by Televisa in 2004 with the soap opera “Rebel” starring Anahí, Dulce María, Christopher Uckermann, Alfonso Herrera, Maite Perroni and Christian Chávez.

The success of this production became a global phenomenon from which came the RBD band with which its protagonists reached many countries and the success, despite their separation, still endures.

During the band’s four years of activity, they released six studio albums and three more live works, which got a good response from the public.

The group conducted at least six international tours that allowed its members to perform in front of thousands of fans from Europe and America.

However, the band announced its dissolution in mid-2008 but in 2020 the “RBD fever” returned with a concert for “streaming” and the arrival of all his discography on the Spotify platform.
