Meghan Markle describes public harassment claims as “calculated defamation campaign”

Meghan Markle has ripped off reports of her intimidating royal aides as a “calculated defamation campaign” to deviate from her television special Oprah.

“We call this what it is: a calculated defamation campaign based on misleading and harmful misinformation,” a spokesman for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex told the Times of London about the allegations.

The inmates had alleged in the newspaper that during her brief tenure as senior royal, the duchess reduced tears to employees and even intimidated two senior members into leaving the job.

“It is no coincidence that several years of allegations were made in the British media to distort the Duchess in the British media shortly before she and the Duke have to speak openly and honestly about their experience in recent years,” special spokeswoman Oprah said.

“The Duchess is saddened by this latest attack on her character, especially as someone who has been the target of harassment and is deeply committed to supporting those who have experienced pain and trauma.

“She is determined to continue her work building compassion around the world and will continue to strive to lead by example to do what is right and do what is right,” the spokesperson said.

Buckingham Palace declined to comment to the UK Times. However, royal sources have told MailOnline that the complaints were not orchestrated by the palace and said the royal family focused on Prince Philip’s health problems as he remains in hospital.
