Dissidents shot dead in Guaviare: Medicina Legal will receive 10 bodies

After the urgent acts at the scene of the attack, the Forensic Medicine of the municipality of Sant Josep, capital of Guaviare, must bring the ten bodies of the dissidents shot down in the middle of operations with the troops of the Omega Task Force.

Three other dissidents who were injured are already in hospital in this capital, where they will remain until their recovery to be subsequently prosecuted.

The events took place in the vicinity of the Ajajú River, Buenos Aires border between Guaviare and Caquetá, and in military jurisdiction of the Omega Joint Task Force, confirmed its commander General Raul Flórez.

According to the Army, this dissident structure that was attacked, under the alias command ‘Gentil Duarte’, was responsible for controlling the illegal economies and the deforestation that is occurring in the nature reserves of the southeast of the country.

In turn, the governor of Guaviare, Heydeer Palacios, said that combating deforestation, drug trafficking and organized crime, is yielding great results, such as those confirmed with operations on the Buenos Aires trail, in rural areas of the department, where 10 FARC dissidents were killed and three others captured.

At the site, operations continue to ensure the safety and tranquility of its inhabitants, the president said.
