After the news appeared on street signs, St. Vincent officially announced his new album Father’s house and shared his first single, “Pay Your Way in Pain.” The album comes out on May 14 via Loma Vista. Watch the “Pay Your Way in Pain” video, along with the album’s illustrations and tracklist below.
According to a press release, Sant Vicenç began writing some of them Father’s house songs in the winter of 2019, which is around the time his father was released from prison after nine years in prison. In a new interview with Laura Snapes by The guardian, it is revealed that the main theme of the album was inspired by the fact that Sant Vicenç took his father home from prison.
Annie Clark produced her new album with Jack Antonoff. In addition to Clark and Antonoff, the album features performances by Cian Riordan, Evan Smith, Sam KS, Greg Leisz, Daniel Hart, Michael Leonhard, Lynne Fiddmont and Kenya Hathaway.
Sant Vicenç’s last studio album was in 2017 MASSEDUCTION. Clark later shared several versions of the album, including a naked 2018 acoustic version (MassEducation) and a 2019 remix version titled Nina Kraviz presents Masseduction Rewired.
