Tom Brady’s rookie card sells for a record $ 1.32 million

A rookie card from Tom Brady sold for $ 1.32 million Thursday at PWCC Marketplace, an online auction house and a card depository.

The 2000 Playoff Contenders Championship Ticket autograph card was ranked eighth with a score of 10 on the signature. It was bought by James Park, a well-known letter collector and well-known Brady fan.

“I lived in Boston for ten years and so I’m a big fan of Brady,” Park said in comments posted on his PWCC Marketplace Instagram account. “Since I was a child I also like to collect cards. Given his undeniable status as a GOAT in football, this card is an important piece in the history of the sport and any collection.”

The $ 1.32 million price tag is believed to be the highest price paid for a football card, surpassing the previous record by nearly $ 500,000. As the card market continues to grow in interest and value, that sale rose beyond a recent Patrick Mahomes card that sold for $ 861,000 in early February.

The 2017 National Treasury autographed Muhammad card got the rating again and was one of only five on that specific card. This sale broke the previous record, which had another Brady card sold for $ 555,988 in January.

This more recent record may be short-lived considering how the industry is run, and given that a similar card is already being sold at the Lelands auction house. The same Brady card is up for auction, but has a score of 8.5 with the signature back.

Currently, the Lelands card has an offer of $ 707,565 and there are still 29 days left in the lot.
