Bruno Mars and Anderson. Paak have shared their first collaborative song as Silk Sonic after rehearsing the project last week. “Leave the Door Open” is the first single from an upcoming feature film called An evening with Silk Sonic, and comes with a music video and an introductory track of the “special guest” from the album Bootsy Collins. “Leave the Door Open” was produced by Bruno Mars and D’Mile; was written by Bruno Mars, Anderson. Paak, D’Mile and Brody Brown. A press release notes that Bootsy Collins named the duo Silk Sonic. An evening with Silk Sonic will be due later this year, but currently has no release date.
Bruno Mars’ most recent solo album was in 2016 24K magic, with Anderson .Paak’s Ventura arriving in 2019. Between those two records, the couple toured together in 2017, reportedly working on new material with Nile Rodgers and Disclosure on Abbey Road.
