Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker will miss Sunday’s All-Star festivities due to a sprained left knee, the league announced Friday.
He suffered the injury in Thursday night’s 120-98 victory over the Golden State Warriors.
The team said in a press release that it is considered day-to-day and will be re-evaluated after the All-Star break.
Booker had previously been chosen by Commissioner Adam Silver to replace injured striker Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers.
The former Kentucky Wildcat was named No. 3 overall by KD team captain Kevin Durant in Thursday night’s NBA All-Star draft.
Booker also planned to take part in his fifth three-point competition, which he won in the 2018 edition.
Mike Conley Jr., the Utah jazz guard, will replace Booker in both the All-Star Game and the three-point contest on Sunday night in Atlanta.
The selection will be the first of Conley’s 14-year career.
