Seattle Mariners are looking for offside Jarred Kelenic because of a strained knee

PEORIA, Arizona. – Seattle Mariners ’best potential Jarred Kelenic will be out of action due to a tense adductor muscle in his left knee.

Sailors general manager Jerry Dipoto said an MRI on Saturday revealed the injury. No chronology was given for the return of the offside.

“While we’ve been disappointed that Jarred will be left out, we are relieved that the long-term outlook is positive,” Dipoto said. “We all hope to return him to the field in the near future.”

Kelenic appeared injured during his first bout on Friday against the Chicago White Sox. Kelenic made a mistake, but appeared annoyed after reaching first base. Kelenic remained in the game and was replaced by an entry later.

Young Kelenic, 21, who attacked Seattle’s first spring training earlier this week against the Cubs, has been the center of attention during spring training.

Kelenic’s arrival in the majors was part of comments made by former team president and CEO Kevin Mather indicating that Seattle was considering manipulating Kelenic’s service time.

Kelenic and his agent attacked the Mariners in comments made to USA Today following Mather’s resignation last month. After getting a front-line service this week, Kelenic said he uses those words as motivation.

“I’m a competitor,” Kelenic said. “I’m a very motivated person. I mean, you know, something like that comes up and I think you can look at it in one of two ways: one, you can sit down and do a trick, or the I can use it as motivation and let it drive me even further. This is where I am. Every day I let that drive me. “
