The anticipation is high for the next AEW Revolution pay per view.
The promotion has reserved a card loaded with nine matches (including a pre-show match) and promises additional surprises beyond the matches announced above. The six-team match “Face of the Revolution” will feature a mysterious opponent. This week onwards Dynamite, the recently signed Paul Wight appeared and caused a major announcement for Revolution.
AEW President Tony Khan spoke about the company AEW without restrictions podcast that “a major star in the world of wrestling, a huge star, will sign a multi-year contract with AEW” in Revolution. Fans are already blatantly speculating about who he might be.
In the main event, AEW champion Kenny Omega will face Jon Moxley in a Deathmatch Exploding Barbed Wire. It is a format that originated in Japan in the 90s and that Omega, connoisseur of Japanese wrestling, is eager to introduce it to a new audience.
“There will be a certain level of excitement and even anxiety watching this match, a level of curiosity that won’t let you look away,” Omega said. Revolution is AEW’s first pay-per-view on Sunday. While the WWE holds its signature events on Sundays, AEW has historically scheduled its four annual PPVs on Saturdays. Revolution it was initially scheduled for Saturday, February 27, but was moved because Canelo Alvarez had to fight Avni Yildirim that night. Saturday, March 6 is the same night as UFC 259, hence AEW’s unusual Sunday PPV slot.
