The management of Wapa Television today announced the appointments of Sonia Valentí as Production Director and while Frank Dobek com Chief operating officer. Both will be in charge of leading one of the channel’s largest and most dynamic departments starting Monday, March 15th.
Valentí will be in charge of supervising and supplying the needs of local productions, as well as providing support in administrative and content management. Also, he will be responsible for coordinating and producing special events. In addition, he will be responsible for hiring talent and specialized staff for the development of new projects, among other functions.

From this new role, I will use my knowledge and my genuine desire to continue to contribute to the development and growth of existing projects and others that we will begin soon, “the producer, director and actress said in a press release.
Frank Dobek, for his part, who has a career spanning more than 25 years in the television industry, will be responsible for leading the channel’s staff and technical team, including cameras, lighting technicians, coordinators, editors and audio, others . Similarly, it will offer technical support to other departments.

Sonia Valentí is a graduate of the Department of Communications at the University of the Sacred Heart. He studied postgraduate studies with a concentration in Cinema at the University of Maine, as well as acting at HB Studio in New York. Throughout his career, he has produced and acted in more than a dozen productions. He has also directed films and plays. Valentí is the founder of Copelar Productions, a production company under which she created programs such as “Entre nós” and “Junts en el matí”, broadcast by Wapa. For the past three years, she has collaborated on the “Viva la tarda” program as a presenter of the analysis and discussion segment “Escalfant la tarda”, which will culminate next Thursday to dedicate herself to her new duties.
Frank Dobek has a baccalaureate in Electronics from the San Juan School of Technology with a concentration in Communications. In 1993, he began his career at Coquí.net, installing the first internet servers in Puerto Rico. In 1995, he moved to WIPR, where he began as an Electronics Technician, then as a Technical Director and later as a supervisor in the Engineering Department. In 2007, he joined Wapa Television as a Production Operations Manager. From this place, she led at a technical and operational level projects such as: “Idol Puerto Rico”, “Miss Universe Puerto Rico”, election coverage and other specials, in addition to local channel programs and Wapa Sports.
