Government prepared to vaccinate all adults from 1 May

Assistant General of the National Guard in Puerto Rico, José Reyes, said today that Puerto Rico is on the right track to making all adults eligible for the May 1 vaccine.

He made these remarks during his visit to the massive “one-shot” vaccination event in Naranjito, where in partnership with the Department of Health and the Municipality, about 1,500 doses were expected to be applied by the end of the day.

“Nearly 100,000 doses are arriving in Puerto Rico in what are Pfizer and Moderna and are now increasing with those doses (from Johnson & Johnson),” he told Metro.

We recommend:

Reis assured that this inventory will increase in the coming weeks until Puerto Rico receives 120,000-140,000 weekly doses, which would lead to the expansion of vaccination to more adults.

“There is no need to modify the vaccination plan, it was part of the expectations that had been evaluated, there are several fronts that are going to be done, the permanent and temporary vaccination centers in different villages will be increased. Being a single dose we can speed up, ”he continued.

Last night, U.S. President Joe Biden ordered all people over the age of 18 to start starting May 1st.
