According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the San Francisco 49ers have restructured the Weston Richburg center contract, creating $ 6.875 billion in salary cap space. Rapoport adds that the offensive line offensive veteran is likely to retire.
The move gives the 49ers about $ 32 million in salary cap, according to OverTheCap.com. Of course, this is not fractured in the two-year, $ 10.1 million agreement recently agreed by cornerback Emmanuel Moseley, as the structure of that contract is not yet known.

San Francisco initially signed Richburg on a five-year, $ 47.5 million contract on March 14, 2018, and began 15 games in his first season with the team. The center suffered a rotating patellar tendon during week 14 of the 2019 season, landed on the injured reserve and lost the final straight of the 49ers Super Bowl race.
Richburg started the 2020 season on the reserve list / physically unable to perform and did not appear in any games. He has had several surgeries since the injury. In addition to having knee surgery, he had shoulder surgery, which was credited for his reversal in 2020. More recently, he underwent hip surgery.
This is the second time the 49ers have restructured Richburg’s contract to create maximum space. The team did it before in December 2019.

Where there is smoke, there is fire and there has been a lot of smoke coming out of Santa Clara about the 49ers, their quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and the future of the two together. Make no mistake, the most likely scenario for anyone starting under the 49ers center in 2021 is Jimmy Garoppolo, but GM John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan have made it clear that they are open to improving position and moving on. Jimmy G. If the 49ers move past Garoppolo, they shouldn’t try to mortgage the future by negotiating a bunch of picks to move up to the top 10 or even the top 5 for a quarterback. They should pick Alabama No. 10 quarterback Mac Jones if he falls in the twelfth pick of the 2021 NFL Draft. Mac Jones quickly climbs the tables

Peter King of NBC Sports offered information on what will likely be a 17-game season in 2021. The NFL is continuing negotiations with broadcast partners about a new television deal and networks and the league are working on the assumption that the regular season increase a game. So far, there has been speculation about where the 17th games will take place. We already knew that every NFC West team would face their opponent from the AFC North with the same place in last season’s standings. That means the San Francisco 49ers will place last in the Cincinnati Bengals in 2021. King hears that the AFC will host the 16

Options for the 49ers if LT Trent Williams leaves free agency
By Brian Renick
March 5, 2021
The worst scenario for the 49ers this offseason would be to see All-Pro left-back Trent Williams come out on free agency. Last season, the team sent a third-round pick to the Washington football team to acquire Williams and then restructured its deal to give him a small salary offset and included a language in the contract that stated they would not use the 2021 franchise tag. Looking at the pending free agents in the attacking position, it’s easy to see that Trent Williams is by far the best player available. Williams has stated that he would like to return the 49ers, good news, but he also wants to test the market to determine its value, which could be bad news.
