Don’t play chicken with a global pandemic
KFC was forced to close several restaurants in China this weekend after masses of Genshin impact players showed up to participate in the fast food store’s crossover event.
KFC announced that it would offer exclusivity Genshin impact pins and game items to customers who showed up and shouted the phrase “Meet in another world, enjoy a delicious meal!” to restaurant employees. However, as reported by Kotaku, KFC outlets in Shanghai, Nanjing and Hangzhou districts were flooded with fans. Despite efforts by authorities to maintain control of the crowd, the meetings were deemed to violate China’s strict COVID-19 regulations, forcing them to partially abandon the event.
As noted by industry analyst Daniel Ahmad, COVID-19 figures are currently relatively low in China, making the country safer than several other major international communities. Regardless, hold an in-store promotion for one of the zeitgeist’s biggest video games while global pandemic still in force is a bit irresponsible. I am sorry for the poor saba they represented in disguise Genshin impact characters Diluc and Noelle. I hope they got out of there before the fans, hugs, and selfies went up.
Event game items are expected to be available to all players later this summer, while physical pins have very limited availability. As such, these are highly sought after items in the Genshin impact community, which is currently estimated to occupy between 30 and 35 million players.
These people waited all night for the KFC x Genshin Impact collaboration in China. This location is Nanjing.
Fans can get a special meal from the Genshin Impact brand, with game content and an exclusive KFC brand pin / badge.
