Puppies stolen at Webster’s Petland store when a thief is caught in a surveillance video

WEBSTER, Texas (KTRK) – Authorities are trying to solve a crime in which puppies were stolen from a pet store in Webster in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The dogs were taken from the Petland Webster facility. The thief was caught with a surveillance camera going through the store, opening doors and grabbing puppies to put in a handbag.

As the suspect fled the pet store, Dulce, the Boston terrier, got out of the bag and ran back to the store and later found himself hiding in a back room. Milo, the French bulldog, and Rusty, the English bulldog, were robbed.

“I have a personal relationship with all of these dogs,” said sales manager Kristen Andrews. “My immediate reaction: they caught these puppies, these are my babies. So you’re playing with my babies.”

The French bulldog is reportedly worth about $ 9,400 and the English bulldog is said to be worth more than $ 10,000.

“At Petland Webster, today we are really surprised and saddened by the news that three of our beloved puppies have taken us out,” an official company statement said. “These three puppies were ready to be taken home by a loving family.”

Thieves have routinely become targets of French bulldogs. Perhaps the highest case of French bulldog theft occurred when two of Lady Gaga’s dogs were stolen after unknown assailants shot her dog walking on her chest.
