Donald Trump has not spoken publicly about the bomb interview of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with Oprah because he does not want to be “canceled,” says his former aide.
Former Trump senior adviser Jason Miller lifted the lid on his feelings about the Sussex interview during an appearance Wednesday on Steve Bannon’s podcast.
Miller said Trump told him he could “make a little news” by sharing his reaction to the interview, but eventually decided it wasn’t a good idea.
“When I was talking to the president this morning … he said to me,‘ Yeah, [Meghan’s] not good. I said it and now everyone sees it.
“” But you realize if you say something negative about Meghan Markle, they will cancel you. Mira Piers [Morgan]”” Miller recalled.
Morgan left his anchor post at Good Morning Britain last week amid criticism for his controversial comments about the interview.
The polarizing host said she “didn’t believe a word” of what Meghan said about the experience of racism in the royal family and the feeling of suicide when she was pregnant with her son Archie.
Trump has spoken out against Meghan in the past, even when the celebrity called her “nasty” in 2019.

Morgan resigned from GMB a day after he stormed the beach during an aerial row with comrade Alex Beresford, who criticized him for “continuing to sweep” the Duchess of Sussex.
There were more than 41,000 complaints received by Ofcom, the UK’s communications regulator, including one from Meghan herself after the crash.
It is said to have the Duchess raised concerns with ITV about the effect Morgan’s comments may have on the topic of mental health in general and those trying to address their own issues.
But Morgan later reiterated his condemnation of his interview the next day when he told reporters in front of his West London home: “If I have to fall on my sword for having expressed an honest opinion about Meghan Markle and the bilge diatribe with which he came out in this interview, so be it ”.
Shortly afterwards he announced his resignation and tweeted thanks to the GMB team, praising them for their “work and dedication” that led them to beat their main TV rival for breakfast.

After his departure, at least three petitions seeking Morgan’s reinstatement in GMB garnered more than 240,000 signatures.
Morgan ruled out a return to the show, but called the requests a “pleasant surprise” in an Instagram statement on Saturday.
“I will not return, but thanks to everyone who has signed these petitions. Normally, people start petitions for me to be fired or deported, so this is a pleasant surprise,” he wrote.

“My fervent opposition to the Iraq war led to my demise from the Daily Mirror. My clear views on the madness of American gun laws led to the end of my time on CNN.

He added: “This is how I became the last ‘victim’ of the culture of cancellation that permeates our country, every minute, every hour, every day. Although, of course, I do not consider myself a victim or canceled.
“However, I believe that the defense of freedom of expression and the right to express honest opinions is the most important issue in my career and the most important issue in British society.”
ITV sources have said Morgan “will continue to make programs for the channel,” according to iNews.
He is likely to include his popular celebrity interview program, Life Stories, which has been airing since 2009.
In a statement, Morgan thanked supporters and stated that he was “willing to stand firm.”
Trump and the Sussex have a history of trade negotiations.
The then president analyzed Harry and Meghan’s decision to leave the royal family in January 2020 and expressed his condolences to Queen Elizabeth II.

Trump attacked Meghan again last fall after she and Harry made the unprecedented decision to comment on the upcoming U.S. election, interpreted by many as a endorsement of current President Joe Biden.
“I’m not a fan of his,” Trump said of Meghan.
“I’d say that, and you’ve probably heard it. I wish Harry good luck because he’ll need it.”
Meghan and Harry broke the royal convention when they released a video message doing speedy veil excavations to Trump.
In the video, which appeared in a Time 100 video to publish the list of the most influential people of 2020, Harry urged Americans to “reject hate speech,” while Meghan defined it as “the election most important things in our lives. ”
