Banco Popular warns about fraud scheme with vaccines in one of its establishments

The Banco Popular warned this Wednesday about a fraud scheme that is being carried out via text messages, announcing a vaccination event for people aged 25 to 50, on April 17, at the facilities from Popular Center to Hato Rei.

“This information is false and we urge you not to provide personal information at any time,” the company noted through its social media.

In the afternoon, the appointed Secretary of Health, Carlos Mellado López, Clarified that the unit does not use the text messaging mode to request any information from the public.

“In the face of circulating text messages inviting young people to a vaccination, I want to clarify that the Department of Health and none of its 540 Authorized Providers in the Vaccination Process in Puerto Rico request information through text messages or networks social, “Mellado Lopez said on his Twitter account.

In turn, the official explained that appointments for patients will be made through the portal protegetevacunate.com.
