Sharon Osbourne refuses to go down without a fight, as “The Talk” investigates allegations of racism and toxicity on the CBS program.
A source told us that now Osbourne hopes to be fired, but it will not happen without a large payment.
“The network will have to pay her a major deal to keep her quiet after that,” the source said.
“I could write a book, I would do a world of interviews. She knows where all the bodies are buried.
We’re told that joint executive producers Heather Gray and Kristin Matthews might have to take part in the fall for the race because they supposedly didn’t prepare Sharon for the collapsed showdown with Sheryl Underwood that started the drama.
Of the spectators, a second source said: “They blew it up. Not preparing Sharon was a fatal mistake. It has destroyed the show.
“They may also have to take the fall. The staff is waiting for the announcement that Sharon is finished, but in the meantime they keep pointing all their fingers,” the source said.
Meanwhile, there is still a race behind the scenes to throw several members of the show’s production under the bus.
A third source told us that a different CBS executive was the person who called for the hosts to engage in a fuller discussion with Osbourne about his support for Piers Morgan’s controversial comments about Meghan Markle.
“Both of us [co-hosts] Elaine [Welteroth] and Sheryl [Underwood] was let know 30-35 minutes [before going on air] that there was an executive decision to make it [longer] conversation and them [the co-hosts] they were told Sharon knew it, ”the source said.
But Osbourne has said in interviews that he felt ambushed and unaware that the issue would be a full segment. She also said she also hears CBS blinding her to create explosive television.
And Osbourne’s subsequent media tour does him no favors. The source said: “CBS is very unhappy that Sharon has invented a story that says all this is personal retaliation for defending Piers because CBS was the home of Meghan Markle’s interview,” the third source added.
“The implication is that CBS was trying to protect its investment in [Harry and Meghan] interview and tried to make her a martyr, [and that] it doesn’t help you on the net. It’s so crazy. Sharon is in this situation because of her actions and nothing else. Ultimately, he will commit to what happens to him in the future. “
Page six previously reported that co-host Elaine Welteroth and a stylist had complained about the alleged “hostile and race-insensitive environment” on the show.
One source said, “Elaine Welteroth and her stylist complained to HR about Sharon Osbourne’s recent exchange with Sheryl Underwood. They said they don’t feel comfortable working in a hostile, race-insensitive environment.”
CBS sent a note to all hosts, crew and other staff asking everyone with complaints to come forward or report their concerns to an anonymous tip line.
Then came a bomb report that, according to Leah Remini’s former roommate “The Talk,” Osbourne had referred to former host Julie Chen, who is Chinese-American, as “wonton.” and “tilted eyes” and old will host Sara Gilbert, who is a lesbian, as a “pick and licker” during her time together in “The Talk.”
But Osbourne, angry, denied calling Chen for any racial epithet, calling the allegation “shit.”
