President Biden stumbled several times while running the steps of Air Force One on Friday, a new video is shown.
The 78-year-old commander-in-chief had his hand on the railing when he tripped twice before falling for the third time as he climbed the plane’s stairs in slow motion at Andrews Joint Base.
After recovering, Biden seemed to take a moment to dust off his knee before getting on his way to the top. He then made a greeting before heading to the cabin to take off for Georgia.
White House communications director Kate Bedingfield said Biden was not injured.
“I know people have seen President Biden slide down the stairs to AF1, but I’m delighted to report that he’s fine and that he didn’t even need any attention from the medical team traveling with him.” he tweeted. “Nothing more than a bad step on the stairs.”
President and Vice President Kamala Harris will meet with the Asian community in Atlanta after Tuesday’s mass shootings at spas and massage parlors in the area left eight people, including six Asian women, dead.
In November, Biden suffered a hairline fracture in his right foot while playing with his rescue dog Major, which forced him to wear an orthopedic boot for several weeks.
He once mocked former President Donald Trump after videos of his predecessor walking cautiously down a ramp at West Point went viral.
“Look how I run on ramps and he stumbles over ramps. OKAY? Come on, ”Biden said last September.
