Fortnite fans have speculated about who gave voice to The Foundation, a character who appeared in The Foundation cinematic and event within the game that started the game season 6. The current theory is that this is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, but there are also competing ideas. None of this matters much, but it does Fortnite players do what they do best: wild speculating.

Let’s look at the facts. On March 16, the day before the release of Season 6, Johnson posted a cryptic Instagram video talking about the importance of March 16 “in a particular culture” and how “there is connective tissue between this world and my world “. The video ends with him saying, “All of this is done to strengthen, evolve, and grow the power and strength known as … The Foundation” before raising his eyebrow significantly.

It seems like a pretty clear proof to many Fortnite fans. Others have pointed this out The Foundation’s armor resembles Johnson’s tattoos. Others point out that “rock” and “foundation” have similar meanings. Eurogamer reports that The Foundation’s voice lines are in a folder called “DJ” within the game’s code. Turned on Reddit, players noted that Epic creative director Donald Mustard liked Johnson’s Instagram video as further proof of the theory.

Johnson, however, is not the only voice possible. Players have it too speculated that Keifer Sutherland or even Donald Mustard express the voice of The Foundation, trotting various tests for and against their favorite candidate. As one Reddit player succinctly sums things up, “This is stupid.”

That is stupid! Who cares who gave the voice to the character and who was the next celebrity to be absorbed Fortnitewill it be false? But Fortnite it’s always been fantastic to be a wild theory creation engine, with players staring metaphorically red ropes between each map change and the Twitter teaser to speculate what will happen next. As there have been more and more crossovers in the game, I have found that the fan theorizes less fun, depending more on knowledge of pop culture than on theories that revolve completely detached from any reality except the one created by people who have too much time to move on to play Fortnite. This feels like a good old-fashioned past Fortnite strangeness of the player, of what I have missed.

My current favorite Fortnite Season 6 theory it’s a new skin called Raz, which has tattoos similar to the ruins of Kevin The Cube from past seasons. This coincides with another theory that the towers of season 6 are in places similar to the ruins that Kevin left when he was rolling around the map. It’s the kind of grainy material that YouTube videos are made for, and I’m here for it all. Screw the rock. Pick up the cube and let the creative juices of the players flow.

(The Rock, if you’re reading this, please don’t hit me).
