Where are Los Van Van, Haila, Bona Fe and other voices of the Cuban regime in ‘the war’ against ‘Homeland and Life’?

The Cuban government carries a streak of inconsequential responses against the song “Homeland and Life”, to the height of what for many is already an anthem. In the attempts from the Island there is no renowned artist like Yotuel Romero, the duo Gent de Zona, Descemer Bé, not even the rap force of Maykel Castell (Osorbo) and Eliecer Márquez (El Funky) .

In the face of official paperwork, even from members of the Ministry of the Interior (MININT), many Cubans wonder where the regime-affiliated artists are who have more than once raised their voices to defend the Central Party Committee.

Nor did Israel Rojas, who came out to defend the Minister of Culture who physically attacked an independent journalist; nor Haila Maria Mompié, to whom Granma to defend by “its kiss and its song to Fidel”; nor the iconic Els Van Van; nor Ray Fernandez, who mocked “Homeland and Life” with a graffiti on his belly; nor Arnaldo Rodriguez, the one of the Talisman, singer of the CDR, left to intone a return by the regime of Havana.

Where are these and other singers? Have they said no to the Cuban government’s requests? Will the response to “Homeland and Life” remain issues of questionable quality, with unknown singers and even children? Do they not tire of using children, blacks and women to demonstrate their supposed support for the dictatorship?

Only Raúl Torres brought out a theme that is on its way to being the worst in the history of music on the Island, which already contains many songs “in defense of the Revolution” since 1959. As “Homeland and Life” approaches to the four million views on YouTube, Torres’ theme accumulates more than 102,000 “dislikes” on the official media channel Cubadebate. The other “songs” are not even noticeable beyond the alien embarrassment they arouse among those who listen to them.

Maykel Osorbo died of laughter watching the MININT video with three uniformed men. “They don’t know how to sing. They had to be cops, forget about it (…) We’re not going to answer any of that,” the singer said on Facebook.

The director of the video for “Homeland and Life”, Asiel Babastro, commented on these official songs in a conversation with DIARI DE CUBA: “They were not even careful, nor were they well directed, they did not use an appendix of creativity.Res. It was a dog. You realize how little support they have among artists, even those who advocate for the Revolution within Cuba didn’t even lend themselves to it.. In the end, they know that what they are advocating is false. “

Will Cándido Fabré only stay in an answer full of slogans, even if he likes “strong opponents”? They are not going to make the move to the Omara Portuondo front; Laritza Bacallao, who sang on Fidel Castro’s ninetieth birthday; or José Luis Cortés (El Tosco), who went to play his flute in his tomb in Santa Ifigènia? Is there only the Cuban regime despite the alleged dialogue of the Ministry of Culture with its artists and intellectuals?

Please think carefully about the next song that the Cuban people can no longer with ‘the temitas’.

And no, they can’t with the “Homeland and Life” message. “Is over”. Overcome it.
