Mural dedicated to Albert Rodríguez at school in Arecibo

The legacy of comedian and director Albert Rodríguez was honored today through a mural at the National Talent Academy in Arecibo.

A group of visual artists made up of Gary Javier, Norberto Ruiz Neus, Noy Neus and volunteers from Ciutat Museu, in Añasco, set to work on the work that covers one of the walls of the school plant in which he was acting as general manager, and showing an image of the smiling face of the missing actor, with the Puerto Rican flag.

The artist, who died on Monday at the age of 58, stood out for a decade in directing the dreams of dozens of students with difficulties in their academic performance, who found support for the academy he co-founded with the animator Deddie Romero and actress Marian Pabón.

A banner with the phrase “We will always remember you” was also placed in another of the buildings of the planter.

Radio announcer Deddie Romero shared in writing a few days ago that, “Albert is the important piece of this project that along with a whole team of teachers, made sure that young people were not demotivated.” He also revealed the artist’s longing to see the Puerto Rican flag adorning one of the walls.

“The NTA team, students and collaborators want to fulfill this wish that he loved, to see the flag of our island, which he loved and defended so much, to become part of our institution. in Arecibo, “Romero said then.

On Thursday, the actor was fired at the Braulio Castle Theater in Bayamón, and yesterday at a public vigil at the Jalvin Funeral Home in Añasco. Today would be the burial, which would be held privately.
