A 21-year-old American claimed responsibility for the March 17 shootings that left eight dead, Including six women of Asian descent. The murders occurred at several spas near Atlanta, United States.
According to police chief Jay Baker Robert Aaron Long, who was arrested the same day, “he appears to have stated that he was not motivated by racism” and further told authorities he was suffering from a “sexual addiction. “and that the massage parlors were “A temptation for him that I wanted to eliminate”.

According to ‘The New York Times’, his unbridled sexual behavior would have led him to be in rehab and precisely when he was captured he told police he was heading to Florida to carry out another attack to a porn business.
the parents of Long herself were the ones who contacted the Police and they helped identify him after surveillance videos were released in which the young man with white skin, light brown hair and a long mustache without a mustache is seen getting into a vehicle near the crime scene in Acworth, Georgia.
The attacker was described as an introverted person and passionate about weapons, In addition to being a very religious Christian.

According to ‘The Daily Beast’ media, Long had written in a post on his Instagram account, which was already deleted: “Pizza, guns, drums, music, family and God. That pretty much sums up my life. “It’s a pretty good life.”

A high school classmate of his, interviewed by the same medium, described him as “a hunter.” In fact, Long appears in a photo circulating on social media wearing a cap with the logo of the Matthews Archery, which specializes in crossbows.

“He seemed very innocent and didn’t even say bad words. He was a bit ‘nerdy’ and generally unsociable. It didn’t seem violent from what I remember“, Explained another young man who knew him.
Apparently, Long was very involved in the church which he attended with his family and there he was forbidden to have sex outside of marriage. In addition, he is known to have been baptized a second time, a ceremony in which he was ‘saved’, as he himself stated in a Facebook video.

On March 18, U.S. President Joe Biden referred to the unfortunate fact and said that violence against people of Asian descent is very worrying: “I know that Americans of Asian descent are very concerned because, as you know, we have talked about brutality against Asian Americans in recent months,” he said.
Also, former President Barack Obama, through his Twitter account, called for an end to the violence in society.
Yesterday’s shootings are another tragic reminder that we have much more work to do to implement the common weapons security laws and root out the ubiquitous patterns of hatred and violence in our society.
