Dr. Tiffany Osborn reunited with family after living last year in an RV to keep COVID-19 away

ST. LOUIS – Last March, a BJC doctor on the front line made the decision to distance himself from his family so that he would not take COVID-19 home.

“I had the same concerns as all the health care providers, who were one, will I infect myself? But more importantly, will I infect my family?” Said Tiffany Osborn.

BJC doctor Tiffany Osborn has taken extreme action to protect her family from the coronavirus, she bought a camper to live there to stay isolated.

Osborn is an emergency and intensive care physician who has lived inside his motorhome for the past year. She said it was a decision she and her family made to prevent the disease from entering her home.

Osborn said he would work three weeks in a row with no days off so he could isolate himself for a few days, get tested and see his family just a couple of days before returning to the hospital.

Now, after a full year, he finally reunites completely with his family. “It took a while to make the transition, but once I got back in, it was fantastic,” Osborn said. “I mean, it’s been wonderful to have the opportunity to re-experience being together constantly.”

Osborne said being back with his family would not have been possible without the COVID-19 vaccine. He said the only way to get back to normal is to get those shots.
