Ford Field’s COVID mass vaccination site launches on Wednesday

DETROIT – Officials said Tuesday’s soft opening of the COVID-19 mass vaccination site at Ford Field was a success.

With the official opening of the site on Wednesday, officials are gearing up for everyone, including those with disabilities or limited English.

“We have been trying to be very thoughtful when it comes to accessing the language and people with disabilities by making sure we have enough vaccine pods accessible to people in wheelchairs,” the lieutenant governor of Michigan, Garlin Gilchrist.
