Jaycee Horn impresses in front of Cowboys staff at Pro Fay

The Dallas Cowboys group had a couple of busy days with a focus on the collegiate corners available in the April draft. After attending Alabama’s Pro Day to visit Patrick Surtain II, Vice President of Staff Will McClay and Defensive Coordinator Dan Quinn headed to South Carolina for the Gamecocks.

The center of attention? First-round prospect Jaycee Horn did not disappoint, slightly outperforming Surtain’s metrics.

With the Cowboys at number 10, there is no doubt that there will be a dynamic player. Talk have been strong players like Surtain, Florida TE Kyle Pitts, Oregon offensive lineman Penei Sewell or Northwestern Rashawn Slater would be in contention for the team. Horn, however, has put a star next to his name with an excellent number to support his aggressive character in cinema. He only had to run 40 once three different timers set his speed to 4.39.

Horn also demonstrated his ability to keep up with a vertical jump of 41.5.

Horn is not an unknown name in the NFL. Joe Horn, Jaycee’s father, played the most notable for the Saints as a wide receiver.

His athleticism is evident in his film. Against the Auburn Tigers, Horn had three attacks, two interceptions and four passing breaks. The same game earned him Walter Camp’s National Defensive Player of the Week and SEC’s Weekly Defensive Player of the Week.

That performance was his best performance, but the best performances were almost once, as he recorded two interceptions and six turnovers last year, with 23 interruptions in his three seasons.

As the battle for CB1 spins Horn for surgeon Caleb Farley, the intrigue surrounding the draft will only grow from then on. The Cowboys ’best selection seems to be becoming a conversation with many athletic players demonstrating their tapes on professional days.
