Bindi Irwin’s little warrior is here.
Irwin, the 22-year-old daughter of “crocodile hunter” Steve Irwin, gave birth to their first child, Grace Warrior’s daughter Irwin Powell, and named the baby after her late father.
“Our elegant warrior is the most beautiful light … His middle names, the warrior Irwin, are a tribute to my father and his legacy as the most amazing wildlife warrior,” Bindi said in a post to Instagram Friday announcing Grace’s birth.
The girl arrived on March 25, which was also the first wedding anniversary of Bindi and her husband Chandler Powell. Bindi tied the knot with Powell, a 24-year-old professional wakeboarder, at the Irwin family’s Australian zoo in a ceremony that was only reduced to family members due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In addition to honoring Steve, who died in a stroke in 2006, Bindi and Chandler chose the first name Grace as a tribute to Bindi’s great-grandmother and “relatives of Chandler’s family dating back to the 1700s.” ”.
“There are no words to describe the infinite amount of love in our hearts for our sweet little girl,” Bindi added in her post Friday. “He chose the perfect day to be born and we feel tremendously blessed.”
Bindi kept fans up to date throughout every step of her pregnancy, and even recreated a sweet, cheeky photo of her parents, Steve and Terri Irwin, when Terri was pregnant with Bindi’s brother Robert, now 17.
