The package of six Target exclusives Animal Crossing: New Horizons Sanrio Amiibo cards went on sale this morning at 9am and sold out almost immediately. Moments later the six-dollar packages began appears on eBay for over $ 100. Does anyone be surprised?

While Target restricts online orders to store collection and limits sales to two per customer, the usual nonsense has passed. Customers put packages in the cart online just to tell them they were no longer in stock when they went shopping. Some Twitter users reported successful purchases after many minutes of refreshment. Many successful buyers turned around and immediately put up for sale the packages purchased for sale with a huge increase. The whole affair made a lot of people very sad.

There is good news, though. The cards, each of which unlocks new ones Hello Kitty-themed settlers and articles a Animal Crossing: New Horizons, are really card reprints released in 2016. This means that the top-ranked Amiibo card market on websites like Etsy is full, we’ll call them DIYers, who will sell worksheets that unlock the same content for low, low prices. Anticipating this morning’s clusterfudge, I placed an order a few weeks ago and got a nice set that worked well and even came with extra stickers.

So there you have it. Gamestop is also currently selling the Powersaves action playback, a device capable of writing Amiibo data to NFC tags (which are quite cheap themselves) for just $ 15. I ordered one of these too this morning, just to try it out. I mean, it can’t be wrong if they sell the thing at Gamestop, right?

On top of all that, I’ve heard from some friends that while online orders were limited, many Target stores in their areas also sell card packs on store shelves, so you could still get lucky. And if you’re unlucky, get deceptive. Just don’t give any of your money to bot scalpers. They shouldn’t be paid to be assholes.
