The young Valentina Arbeláez, presenter of Citytv and Canal RCN, died this Thursday after fighting a severe hydrocephalus diagnosed in 2014.
Because her health was deteriorating, her family decided to take her to a clinic in Bogota, where days later she lost her life.
On September 3, 2014, she suffered a stroke that left her in intensive care for several days and severely affected her motor functions, which prevented her from continuing her career as a presenter.

Maria Eugenia Ramírez, the young woman’s mother, assured the program El Sé Tot that the health care companies did not provide sufficient care for her daughter. “A nurse and a physiotherapist broke her left knee during one of the therapies,” her mother explained to the said medium.
The mother also commented that the EPS and IPS did not send the necessary tickets to Arbeláez and constantly changed the medical staff who cared for her. “They send what they want and at the time they want. For them it’s very simple,” Ramirez said.
Valentina’s Facebook account, which was run by her relatives, called for various fundraising initiatives and garnered the support of celebrities such as comedian Gerly Hassam Gómez, also known as Hassam.
