The first weekend of clubs and dance bars are fully open without restrictions.
“Get out early, we’ve been doing things all day,” says one fan at the club.
Events have been popping up in celebration, some with a clear message. An event called “F COVID” being held in Paris, in Scottsdale, has a brochure stating that there are no masks, no social distancing and full capacity. People were queuing there already at 6:30 pm on Friday evening.
“Being outside, being with people, celebrating and without masks,” says another club member.
People who receive a stand or table will be able to dance with their groups. The promoter who hosts the event throughout the weekend, Luciano Cota, says it has been a long time.
“So that you have our own government, open the city and allow us to do what we do, which is to bring people together, have a good time and have a good party. You know, a week of work and finally you can come back to a fully open club, we haven’t had one for over a year. That’s probably what encouraged us to take this path, to go this route, “says Luciano Cota, Surge Nights, events director.
Cota saying that an event he has for Sunday is already sold out. This pushes a lot of people to plan their weekend plans ahead of time.
“Emotion, relief, especially when it comes to mental health and getting back to being social, interacting with people and getting back to normal, like living life,” says Paris Prynkiewicz, a Scottsdale resident.
Richard Schmitz says he recently moved to Scottsdale, which will be the first time he sees it fully open.
“I can’t wait to go out, see my friends go to some new places, see the scene and start living my life again, it’s been a year,” says Scottsdale resident Richard Schmitz.
Even though people are celebrating, there will still be some union though, taking precautions.
“I think it just depends on the people. There are people who believe in COVID, there are people who don’t,” Cota says.
