The Department of Health today reported the deaths of three more people in Puerto Rico from COVID-19. They are two women and a man. The ages of the people who died ranged from 49 to 78 years. With these three additional deaths, the total deaths accumulated on the island by the coronavirus amount to 2,109 in one year.
Total deaths are divided into 1,796 confirmed and 313 probable.
On the other hand, today’s report adds 1,102 positive cases to VOCID-19 in Puerto Rico, of which 298 were confirmed by molecular testing. Another 158 are for antigen testing and 646 for serological testing. Recently, the Scientific Coalition recommended stopping the use of serological tests – which measure antibodies – as diagnoses of COVID-19.
The total number of confirmed cases accumulated on the island now stands at 96,732. Of these, 94,991 have been recovered, according to the Health Reporting System.
Hospitalizations today continued to rise with 183 people hospitalized, of whom 20 are minors. Of those hospitalized, 30 are in the Intensive Care Unit, including a minor. According to the Health report, 22 people are connected to fan.
Today the agency continues the efforts of mass vaccination in different villages, as well as the efforts of conducting antigen testing.
