Interviews with Joe Rogan are synonymous with lasting more than three hours until every nook and cranny has been revealed or until he asks his guests if they have ever eaten elk meat while psilocybin mushrooms abounded. However, a recent one Joe Rogan’s experience the interview ended abruptly, prompting fans to scratch their heads and wonder why.
Marcus Luttrell, former Navy SEAL, whose incredible story was the inspiration Only survivor, appeared on The experience of Joe Rogan. Luttrell was (SPOILER ALERT) the only survivor of OperationsRed Wings in Afghanistan, a mission in 2005 where Team SEAL 10 was assigned to neutralize a high-ranking Taliban leader. However, the Navy SEALs took part in a bloody gun battle with Taliban fighters next to a mountain that lasted for hours. Miraculously, Luttrell survived the firefight that left his fellow SEALs dead and was rescued when he was near the end of his rope.
In the interview, Luttrell struggles to tears as he relives the personal hell he experienced and the kindness of an Afghan tribe that allowed him to live for six days until his rescue by the U.S. armed forces.
Despite suffering serious injuries from the battle in Afghanistan, Luttrell would volunteer for another military tour before retiring medically.

Luttrell wrote the book Only survivor detailing its incredible story, which became a Hollywood film with actor Mark Wahlberg. During his recent interview with Joe Rogan, Luttrell revealed that he hadn’t actually seen the entire film based on his near-death experience in the Middle East.
Rogan asked Navy SEAL, “What is it like to have a movie about one of the worst experiences of your life?”
“It’s an honor to be a part of it,” Luttrell replied. “Man, it’s about getting my ass whipped. As a fighter and warrior, these are usually the stories you don’t want to get out of. ”
“I haven’t seen it,” the war hero said Only survivor, the film about the most critical moment of his life, joked, “I’ve never seen it before, I know the director’s cut.”

“I’m glad you said, ‘Let’s start with whiskey,'” Rogan told Luttrell. “As soon as you said that, I’d say, ‘This is going to be great.’
“I only drink whiskey with my friends and the only reason we say that is because of the things that come out when you drink whiskey,” Luttrell said. “So I’ve been wanting this, we’ve been friends for a while, I thought, ‘We should have a good time.’
Apparently Luttrell enjoyed some whiskey during the interview.
Later in the interview, Luttrell needed to use the bathroom, which happens to most guests during interviews at Rogan’s marathon. However, Luttrell never returned. JRE fans were curious to know why the interview ended so abruptly.
Rogan explained what happened with the end of Luttrell’s interview.
“A real honor and a good time to share a podcast with a great man and a real hero,” Rogan wrote in an Instagram post. “We could all use someone like @marcusluttrell in our lives.”
“You know you’re a bad player when @markwahlberg plays you in a movie,” the UFC commentator added. “If you don’t know who Marcus is, it’s the real-life SEAL that was the subject of the amazing film Only survivor“.
“We talked a lot of shit and drank a lot of whiskey,” Rogan explained. “For people wondering why the podcast was abruptly cut after Marcus was going to leak, we decided that maybe I had consumed a little too much to keep talking and in retrospect, I think it was the right decision. Hahahaha “We’ll do it again, I’m sure. I really liked it, and I hope you do too.”
