Manhunt chases a “dangerous” suspect in a Texas soldier shooting

A hunt for men is underway in Texas “Armed and dangerous” suspected of shooting a state soldier.

The incident occurred after Texas Department of Homeland Security soldier Chad Walker stopped behind a disabled motorcyclist around 7:45 p.m. Friday near Mexia, south of Dallas. according to a Facebook post from Texas Department of Public Safety Agents Association.

Before Walker even stopped his patrol car, the driver of the disabled vehicle came out with a gun and “fired several shots at Private Walker through the windshield of the patrol unit,” the message says.

Walker was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound to the head and abdomen. The suspect, DeArthur Pinson Jr., 36, returned to his car, grabbed a backpack and ran, according to the Association of Public Safety Agents.

Walker, described as in stable but critical condition, is married to a 15-year-old son, two 7-year-old twin daughters and a 2-month-old daughter, according to the association.
