Special agent in charge of the San Juan Office of the Federal Negotiated Investigation (FBI), Rafael Riviere Vázquez, announced on Friday, the arrest of Miguel Cancel Marrero.
According to the FBI statement, Cancel Marrero was charged with a lawsuit for violations of Title 18, United States Code, sections 1951 (Interference with Trade through Threats or Violence) and 924 (c) (Use of ‘a firearm during the commission of a violent crime) for events that occurred in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico on January 14, 2021.
The subject was arrested by special agents of the Violent Crimes Task Force (Joint Forces Against Violent Crimes) of the FBI’s St. John’s Office. The arrest took place on April 1, 2021.
The prosecution of this case is the responsibility of federal prosecutors Jonathan Gottfried and Luis Valentí of the Violent Crimes Section and is being investigated by the FBI’s St. John’s Office.
